n Mrs. M. S. Sanders and Mrs. W. C. Hull visited the morning session of the Board of Supervisors today making short speeches on why the women should be given the right to vote. They pleaded that the board to do all they can to help them in the work.

n There were nearly four tables full of Grangers on hand Saturday to partake of the chicken pie dinner. It was a great dinner and all who enjoyed it were loud in the praise. The hall had been handsomely decorated for the occasion with flowers, plates of fruit, branches of autumn leaves and branches loaded with apples.

n N. P. Dame, who has been in the city for several days on business, left this morning for Battle Creek. While at that place he will visit for a short time before returning to his home at Saginaw.

n N. Nichols has been in Traverse City for the past month and will leave tomorrow for Lansing. He has accepted a position with the Reo Motor Company in that city.

n Fire caused by an overheated chimney broke out at the Boardman Avenue school building this morning. Luckily the blaze was discovered promptly and not gained much headway before the fire department was called. The open flue, where the fire started, has been condemned by Chief Murray and until it has been put in proper shape, cannot be used.

n G. M. Rawlings, who has been here for some time conducting business meetings left today for Albion. He will spend time visiting with relative there before returning to his home in Cincinnati.

n Of much interest to Traverse City people and notably beautiful in all its appointments, was the wedding solemnized at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Wynkoop, Saturday afternoon when their daughter, Miss Vera Wynkoop became the bride of James White. Rev. Demas Cochlin of the First Congregational church officiated and Lohengrin's wedding march was played by Mrs. Charles Wysong.

n Fred Boening returned from Petoskey this morning after attending the funeral of his sister, Mr. G. Muellen Hagen who died of tuberculosis after an illness of two years. She is survived by her husband and four children.

n Mrs. J. W. Hannen and daughter, Miss Helen, left this afternoon for Lansing where they will make their home. They will spend a few days with friends in Grand Rapids where Gertrude, Alice and Bob have been for the past week.

n Late last Thursday evening shortly after 7 o'clock, three automobiles might have been seen slipping quietly out of the city. They were filled with the members of the Equal Suffrage Association and their husbands intent on spreading the gospel of a square deal for all. The picturesque road to Long Lake was covered in a little over half an hour and the party found the town hall lighted and filled with a representative gathering.

n Miss Ida Brosch, who has been in the office at the Needham Business College for the past month, has accepted a position as stenographer at Grinnell Bros music house. Miss Brosch is well known in the city and has a wide circle of friends.

n Advice on deportment. Never pick your teeth or put your hand in your mouth while eating.

n Medical advice of a century go. Daily use of soap on the face is not necessary unless one is exposed to considerable dust and dirt.
