MANCELONA — Two people were critically injured in a traffic crash and their survival was in doubt Friday afternoon, Antrim County's sheriff said.
A car traveling south on U.S. 131 just south of Mancelona tried to pass a plow truck at about 11:30 a.m. today, Antrim County Sheriff Daniel Bean said.
The car lost control and was broadsided by a tractor-semi trailer, Bean said.
Two occupants of the car were taken to the hospital, Bean said.
"It didn't look like they were going to make it," he said.
Bean wasn't immediately sure of the occupants' ages or residency. Authorities were still working to sort out the crash this afternoon.
