'Larry King' (partly) live from TC tonight

TRAVERSE CITY — The “Larry King Live” show will broadcast — at least partly — from downtown Traverse City tonight.

The show airs at 9 p.m. on CNN.

Michael Moore, founder of the Traverse City Film Festival, will be live on the show from an outdoor location that’s still to be determined, said Deb Lake, executive director of the film festival.

Topics could include movies, the film festival, Traverse City, Moore’s new project to renovate classic movie theaters in other cities and Moore’s recent election to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Board of Governors, Lake said.

Moore is scheduled to open the film festival at 6:30 and 7 p.m. movie screenings; the Opening Night Party is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. and tonight’s Open Space movie, “Twister,” begins at dusk.
