SUTTONS BAY — Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sleight of Suttons Bay celebrated their silver wedding anniversary with their family at a dinner party at the Elks Club.
Ralph Sleight and Marcella Whiteford (Reay) Sleight were married on Jan. 16, 1988, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Traverse City.
Mr. Sleight retired from San Jose, Calif., as an educator and principal. He also served as interim superintendent and principal for Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools and retired in 1989. Mrs. Sleight was a homemaker first, raising her family, and also worked at Burwood Products, R.L. Polk and retired in 1989 from the Traverse City Regional Psychiatric Hospital. The Sleights enjoyed many years traveling, playing golf and cards, and visiting the casino.
The couple's children are Patrick (Terry) Reay, of Suttons Bay, Tami (John) Vincent, of East Jordan, Linda (Greg) Schaub, of Traverse City, and Roger (Jamie) Sleight and Robin (Bruce) Reynolds, all of northern California. They also have five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
