HARBOR SPRINGS — Mr. and Mrs. Richard F. Peabody, of Harbor Springs, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, privately at Boyne Highlands.
Richard Franklin Peabody and the former Melanie Ruth Workman were united in marriage on Feb. 2, 1963, at the First United Methodist Church in Ionia. They honeymooned at Boyne Mountain, where they both still enjoy skiing.
Mr. Peabody retired from the State of Michigan Office of the Auditor General. Mrs. Peabody retired as librarian of Ionia Public Schools. They have lived in Harbor Springs for 15 years.
The couple's children are Nikki (Peabody) and Dan Stahl, of Traverse City, and Scott Peabody, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. They have one grandchild, Anika Stahl.
