Film choice prompts threat to slice off genitals

GAYLORD — Authorities arrested an Otsego County woman who allegedly attacked her husband and threatened to sever his genitals after she found him watching a movie that featured nude women.

Otsego County sheriff's officials said the incident occurred Tuesday afternoon at a house on Murner Road near Gaylord. The woman became angry with her husband's viewing choice and struck him in the groin area, deputies said.

She then grabbed a kitchen knife and threatened to cut off his genitals, which prompted the man to try to phone police. The wife took the phone from him and threw it, but the man later was able to contact authorities.

The woman was arrested for aggravated assault, domestic violence and phone tampering and was jailed, deputies said.
