Five-county roundup: Area races and proposals

TRAVERSE CITY — Tuesday's general election in northern Michigan features numerous local office races, millage requests and other proposals.

Here's a breakdown of local ballot issues and races in the five-county area. Only contested races listed on ballots are included.

Park millage proposal: 0.25 mills for 3 years to fund maintenance and construction within Herman Park

Suttons Bay Public Schools Bonding proposal: Maintain current debt millage levy of 0.2 mills until May 2016, but funding will be used on other school projects, including technology and renovation
