TRAVERSE CITY — Police are looking for information about a hit-and-run accident involving a bicycle.
The Traverse City Police Department responded Thursday just after 1 a.m. to a crash involving a car and bicycle on Ninth Street east of Union Street. Officers found an injured 30-year-old woman, and witnesses said a car struck her bike from behind and left the scene headed south on Cass Street.
The woman was transported to Munson Medical Center for a broken leg.
Witnesses told officers the car was a full-sized, dark-colored pickup truck or SUV. Anyone with information is asked to call the Traverse City Police Department Detective Bureau at 995-5151 or the Silent Observer Tip Line at 947-TIPS.
