Crystal Lake Deaths

Rescuers left tracks going to the hole in Crystal Lake as they tried to rescue two Benzie County men who died after their snowmobile crashed through the ice Friday. Ronald Elton Wilkins, 57, of Frankfort, and Elwood Gustaf Holmquist, 54, of Benzonia, were pronounced dead at around 11 a.m. at Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital in Frankfort, Benzie County Sheriff Rory Heckman said.
