TRAVERSE CITY — It's primary time.

Ballots in the five-county region boast a host of township and county office races as well as state seats.

Voters have been stopping by precincts all day, including Linda Schubert, who voted just after 5:30 p.m. in Leelanau County.

"I show up every time we vote," she said. "It's a privilege that shouldn't be ignored."

Polls close at 8 p.m.
