Dale Cobb uses a butane torch to clean up a newly made rope from a turn-of-the-century New Era Rope Machine. Cobb says the machine can create a variety of rope lengths and diameters. Cobb says he'll combine up to 12 strands of twine to create a piece of rope, but the machine can handle as many as 96 strands.
