TRAVERSE CITY —
TRAVERSE CITY — Celebrating the Earth and the children who will inherit it takes the forefront in downtown Traverse City.
Saturday’s 18th annual Celebration for Young Children, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., will coincide with the 23rd annual Earth Day parade beginning at 1 p.m.
“It was a natural to combine the two events, both are so family oriented,” said Penny Krebiehl of Little Artshram, organizer of the parade that features larger than life puppets.
Families are encouraged to take part in the parade, starting at Central Grade School, on the corner of Seventh and Pine Streets and winding through downtown. Puppet holders should meet at the parade’s starting location at noon.
