Deck out as Munson Healthcare CEO

Traverse City — Munson Healthcare CEO Douglas Deck resigned from his post, the local hospital’s board said today.

Deck, Munson Healthcare’s CEO since late 2005, was attempting to pilot the Traverse city-based hospital into a merger with Spectrum Healthcare, of Grand Rapids. It’s not immediately apparent why Deck resigned or how Deck’s departure will affect the Munson-Spectrum talks.

Edwin Ness, Munson Medical Center’s current CEO, was appointed to succeed Deck.
