Leaking tank cleanup to cause detours

— TRAVERSE CITY (AP) -- Detours and delays are in store for motorists this month in Traverse City as crews work to clean up a leaking underground storage tank.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment is conducting the cleanup work at GJ's Party Store on Holiday Road the northwestern Lower Michigan city. Traffic interruptions are expected Monday, and a stretch of the road will be closed Sept. 20-24.

Federal stimulus funds are paying for the cleanup, which responds to past gasoline release from the former leaking underground storage tank system at the property.
