TRAVERSE CITY -- A long-envisioned plan to complete a five-mile recreational trail around Boardman Lake rolled forward with state approval of a $210,000 grant.
A spending bill recently passed by the state Senate and sent to Gov. Rick Snyder to sign included Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund grants. The money will be pooled with a $210,000 match from the Grand Traverse County Brownfield Development Authority to design and construct a paved trail next year along the west side of Boardman Lake from 10th to 14th streets.
