McBAIN -- Mesick exploded for a 17-run fourth inning in a 31-4 win over McBain Northern Michigan Christian in the first game a sweep.
The Bulldogs won the nightcap 17-10.
Eric Pechota and Kyle Runyon were each 5-for-6 at the plate and Mike Flauger struck out 10.
In the nightcap, Mark Fortelka picked up the win in relief, as Pechota added four more hits and scored four runs. For the night, he was 9-for-12 with three walks.
Cody Wagathe had a 3-for-3 game in the nightcap with six RBIs.
Mesick (15-3-2, 6-2-2 Northwest) hosts undefeated Frankfort on Tuesday.

Nick Lockman threw a no-hitter in the nightcap with five strikeouts and one walk. Greg Blanco, Dan Johnson, Kodi Bellhorn and Taylor Borst each had two hits while Borst added five RBIs.
Blanco won the opener with eight strikeouts and three hits allowed. Bellhorn had two doubles while Johnson scored three runs.

Elk Rapids rolled to a 13-3, 16-1 non-conference sweep of Ellsworth.
Tyler Smith hit a grand slam homer in the opener for the Elks (8-10) and finished with three hits. Brendan Tully pitched the win with one earned run, five hits and 10 strikeouts.
In the nightcap, Luke Morrison was the winner with five strikeouts, Eric Savage had two hits and Smith had three RBIs.

The Huskies won the opener 12-3.
The Norse (13-7-1, 5-4-1) had three hits from Danny Holmes and Bryan Belanger in the nightcap while Evan Glowicki and Shane Kaufman each had two hits. Jared Orban pitched the win with two hits allowed and 10 strikeouts.
In the first game, Glowicki and Holmes each had two hits for Suttons Bay.
Jacob Moilanen was the winning pitcher in game one for Benzie. Jeremy Stapleton had three hits for the Huskies (9-10). Gus Tanner, Rob Hopkins and Justin Judge added two.
Tanner drove in two runs in the nightcap.

Adam Scarbrough, Michael Salamino and Dillon Rosa each had two hits in the opener for the Lakers while Brad Ruzinski pitched the win with six strikeouts.
In the nightcap, Scarbrough had three RBIs, Salamino added two and Hunter Brengman had an RBI triple. Simon Kohler pitched the win with seven strikeouts and a walk while Michael Sawyer came in for the final inning and got two strikeouts.
Matt Gaylord had two hits in the nightcap for the Sabres (1-17). In the opener, Jon Rudolph and Sam Fagerstrom each had RBI hits.

In the opener, Osga had two hits and two RBIs while Jensen and Jake Aubry each had a home run.

Winning pitcher Nick Birgy helped his own cause with two hits, five stolen bases and three RBIs as Forest Area beat Bellaire 13-4 in the opener of a Ski Valley doubleheader.
Victor Woodhams added two hits for the Warriors (3-11).
Forest Area won the nightcap 13-5 as freshman Bob Steile struck out eight in five innings. Luke Jacques had two hits, including a double. He also stole two bases.

Ryan Crawley pitched a three-hitter, striking out five, as Central Lake beat Johannesburg-Lewiston 6-2 to salvage a split of their Ski Valley doubleheader.
At the plate, Crawley had a hit, a walk, scored two runs and drove in one. Ryan Hiltunen drove in two runs.
The Cardinals won the opener 15-4. Crawley had two hits and three stolen bases in that game for the Trojans (13-8, 4-5).
