LAKE ANN -- Glen Lake won the Northwest Conference golf championship match Monday at Mistwood, but Suttons Bay claimed the overall league title.
The Norsemen went 4-1-1 in the league's six jamborees to build a lead entering the championship match, which counted 25 percent in the final standings.
Glen Lake won Monday's round with a 330. The Lakers were followed by Suttons Bay (333), Benzie Central (350), Frankfort (395), Mesick (398) and Kingsley (398).
Matt O'Brien and Matt Abramson paced Glen Lake. Each shot 78. Steve King added an 85 and Collin Richard 89.
Charlie Olson topped the Norsemen with a 75. Adam Wodek carded an 84. Conor Loberg, Zack Smith and Jess Hammersley came in at 87.
Benzie's Sam Hahn was the day's medalist with a 72. Teammate Hunter Brian added an 85.
Frankfort was paced by Jason O'Connel's 93.
Richard Gardner fired a 94 for Mesick, which beat Kingsley in a tie-breaker for fifth. Tom Regenold had a 90 for Kingsley.
Olson, the league's medalist for the season, led the first-team all-conference squad. He was joined by O'Brien, Abramson, King and Suttons Bay's Chase Palmer.
The second-team consisted of Smith, Brian, Richard, Hammersley, Regenold and Glen Lake's Paul Watkowski.
Petoskey, St. Mary's win JV invitational
Petoskey captured Division 1-2 and Lake Leelanau St. Mary Division 3-4 Monday in the Petoskey JV Invitational at Antrim Dells.
Petoskey fired 345.
St. Mary's carded a 363. Leading the Eagles: Joe Pendergast (third overall with an 83), Nick Shaffran (87), Aaron Jolliffe (94) and Christiaan Krombeen (99).
Traverse City West had two teams entered. The Green team finished second to Petoskey with a 351. That team was sparked by Leland Yanick (85), Bobby Livengood (87), Gates Muller (88) and Jordan Rivett (91). The Gold squad -- Kaleb Rodes (95), Erik Charters (97), Liam Curtis (104) and Chris Doerr (105) -- came in at 401.
Traverse City Central had three teams in the field. One team shot 418 -- Tyler Scott (96), Eli Eilers (106), Grant Knoblock (107) and Keegan Hall (109). Another squad shot 446 -- Alex Thomas (91), Tyler Broad (115), Chad Rosinski (119) and Kirk Rasmussen (121). The third team carded a 462 -- Zach Stieger (108), Reed Shea (114), Luke Grof (117) and Leland Wynkoop (122).
SOFTBALL
Kalkaska 12 4
Grayling 2 3
Kalkaska earned a pair of Lake Michigan Conference wins over host Grayling.
The Blazers (21-10, 11-3) took the opener 12-2 behind three hits and two RBIs from Abby Merrill while Mindy Hill had two hits and Jen Spann had a bases loaded triple.
In the nightcap, Kalkaska won 4-3 in extra innings when Hill started on second for international tie-break rules, moved to third on a Merrill hit and scored on a Jamie Myas grounder.
Spann pitched both wins with seven strikeouts in the opener and six in the nightcap.
Petoskey 4 5

Petoskey clinched the Big North Conference title with a sweep of host Traverse City West.
The Northmen finished 9-1 in the league while the Titans (19-13) were 6-4 in conference action.
Andi Gasco pitched both wins for Petoskey and finished the day with 12 strikeouts.
Tori Lockwood had the lone hit for West in the opener while Laura Cizek had two hits and an RBI in the nightcap to score Katie Kirkey.
The Titans travel to Elk Rapids on Wednesday.

Mancelona earned two Ski Valley Conference wins over Inland Lakes.
The Ironmen (15-9, 10-6 SVC) took the opener with two hits from Aria Allen while Mieke Staggs was the winning pitcher.
Brooke Orman pitched the win in the nightcap while Allen had a homer and two RBIs. Maggie Shanahan also had three hits and two RBIs.
Pellston 10 12
Forest Area 0 4
Kristi Lewis and Kayla Tippett pitched Pellston to 10-0 and 12-4 Ski Valley wins over Forest Area.
Lewis homered in the nightcap.
Allie Garrett went 2-for-2 in the opener for Forest Area. Courtney Steile drove in two in the nightcap.

TC Central JV 2 5
Traverse City St. Francis moved to 21-3 with a 10-2, 11-5 sweep of TC Central's JV.
Colleen Roddy threw a no-hitter in the opener for the Glads while Alyssa Stachnik had a triple and Emily Walters had a double with two RBIs.
Walters was the winner in the nightcap and had two hits along with Erica Tompke and Maggie Esler.

TC Central Frosh 4 13
The Traverse West Gold JV swept a twinbill from the Traverse City Central freshmen 14-4 and 15-13.
Myranda Adamick pitched a four-hitter in the opener. Allie Northrup earned the win in the nightcap. Mallory Kaysserian and Tiarah Reece each had three hits in the second game.
BASEBALL

Inland Lakes 2 1
Kodi Balhorn singled in the winning run in the seventh inning as Mancelona edged Inland Lakes 3-2 in the opener of a Ski Valley doubleheader.
The Ironmen (24-0) won the nightcap 8-1 to finish off a perfect 16-0 league season.
Greg Blanco earned the win in the opener, scattering three hits. He struck out 10. Dustin Allen and Dustin Derrer each had two hits. Blanco stole three bases.
Nick Lockman spun a four-hitter in the nightcap. Blanco had a bases-loaded triple in the sixth to put the game away.

Kalkaska and Grayling played to a Lake Michigan Conference split.
The Vikings (14-8-1, 8-5-1 LMC) won the opener 12-2 as Jensen Aury pitched the win, Taylor Desenfants and Eric Ferrigan each delivered three hits and Luke Schneider had two hits and four RBIs.
Kevin Zattlin had three hits for the Blazers while Brandon Washburn had a home run.
Travis Schuba pitched an 11-3 win for Kalkaska in the nightcap with seven strikeouts. Zattlin had two hits and three runs while Tyler Perrin had a homer.
Aubry homered for the Vikings while Schneider had a double.
Lake Leelanau SM 4 12

Lake Leelanau St. Mary erupted for three runs in the top of the fifth to beat Manistee Catholic 4-2 in the first of two games.
Layton Korson doubled in the tying run in the fifth, then Jacob Plamondon doubled in two runs to give the Eagles the win. Kienan Sutton was the winning pitcher. Michael Pendergast drove in the other St. Mary's run.
The Eagles (20-3-1) won the nightcap 12-1 behind David Pasch's one-hitter. Sutton hit a three-run homer in the first inning and an RBI double in the second.

Traverse City West saw its record slip to 16-12 after 10-9 and 7-4 losses to Middleville.
Matt Beem went 3-for-4 with a triple in the opener. Scott Witkop, Trevor Tooley and David Coors contributed two hits.
Grant Durga went 4-for-4 in the nightcap.

Jerod Hubbard drove in two runs to back the pitching of Frank Gilbert as Traverse City West JV beat Middleville 6-4 to split a doubleheader.
Middleville won the opener 4-1. Gilbert scored the lone West run.

TC Central Frosh 3 3
Nick Tooley pitched a two-hitter as the Traverse City West freshmen beat the Central freshmen 15-3 in the first of two games.
Jamie Rivett drove in three runs for the Titans (12-6-1) while Ryan Ellsworth and Stuart Schlarf knocked in two.
Schlarf was the winning pitcher in game two, a 4-3 West win. Tooley went 2-for-2. Rivett drove in two runs and Jacob Perrin one.
