ELK RAPIDS -- Nico Cornstalk pitched a no-hitter as East Jordan beat Elk Rapids 7-0 in the opener of a Lake Michigan Conference baseball doubleheader Tuesday.
The Lake Michigan Conference champion Red Devils also took the nightcap 6-2.
Matt Werner hit a two-run homer in the first inning to get East Jordan off and running in the opener.
Elk Rapids (10-16) managed to push across two runs in the nightcap on Connor Cocking's two-run hit. Eric Savage and Tyler Smith led the Elks with two hits in game two. Each scored a run.

Boyne City swept past host Traverse City St. Francis in Lake Michigan Conference action.
The Ramblers won 11-5 and 4-2 in eight innings.
Joel Lints had a two-run triple for the Gladiators (10-10- 6-8 LMC) in the opener while Sam Olsen reached base three times.
In the nightcap, Olsen threw seven innings for a no decision with one earned run. Newt Calcutt and Keith Gingras each had two hits.

Josh Ledford and Billy Wismer each had a dominant performance as Buckley and Kingsley played to a Northwest Conference split.
The Bears (10-12, 5-7 NWC) won the opener as Ledford tossed a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts. He also had a two-run single and scored the team's final run. Bob Taylor and Zac Baughn had the Kingsley hits with Baughn driving in the lone Stags run.
Wismer threw a one-hitter in the nightcap for the Stags with 11 strikeouts. Kingsley had a three-run fifth inning for the win. Wismer also drove in two runs. Baughn contributed two hits.
Ledford led Buckley with an RBI triple.

Benzie Central extended its recent winning streak with an impressive doubleheader sweep of No. 9-ranked Mesick.
The Huskies won 6-1 and 5-4.
Dan Nickerson drove in the winning runs in the nightcap and was the opener's winning pitcher.
His bases-loaded single with two out in the bottom of the fifth put Benzie up 5-4 in the second contest. He was 2-for-3 in the game.
Mark Michalak and Sean Coykendall each had two hits and an RBI.
Taylor Johnson picked up the win, striking out three.
Nickerson struck out seven in the opener. He was helped offensively by 2-for-3 nights from Jeremy Stapleton and Gus Tanner. Johnson scored two runs.
The Huskies (17-12, 9-3 Northwest) host Buckley on Friday.
Suttons Bay 2 6
Glen Lake 1 1
Bryan Belanger's game-winning double lifted Suttons Bay to a 2-1 win over Glen Lake to kick off a doubleheader sweep.
Shane Kaufman struck out four and gave up three hits while walking just one in the 2-1 opener. Dan Holmes doubled and scored a run and Marty Glowicki crossed home. Brad Rosinski had two hits for Glen Lake. Devin Weber pitched a four-hitter in defeat.
In the nightcap, Adam Moritz threw five strong innings before Glowicki came on and closed out the 6-1 victory.
Glowicki was 2-for-4 with two runs and Moritz had an RBI single. John Bunek and Nick Swartz led the Lakers (13-17, 3-9) with two hits. Tyler Lukasiak pitched a five-hitter in suffering the loss.
The Norsemen (17-7-1, 9-4-1 Northwest) travel to East Jordan on Thursday. Glen Lake hosts Bellaire today.

Leelanau School 5 3
Jon Rudolph's sacrifice fly in the fifth drove in the winning run as Traverse City Christian edged Leelanau School 4-3 in the nightcap of a doubleheader.
Rudolph finished with two hits and two RBIs in the game. Matt Gaylord stole four bases. Sam Fagerstrom earned the win, striking out four.
Christian won the opener 6-5, scoring two runs in the sixth to snap a 4-4 deadlock. Rudolph pitched a four-hitter for the win. He struck out six. Taehoon Kim had an RBI single while Fagerstrom had a hit and scored two runs.
TC West Frosh 15 20
Kingsley JV 4 4
Isaiah Hackney drove in two runs as the Traverse City West freshmen beat the Kingsley JV 15-4 in the first of two games.
Hunter Eagle picked up the win for the Titans (16-6-1). Ryan Ellsworth and Jamie Rivett had two hits apiece.
West won the nightcap 20-4 as Joe Kniss struck out nine in earning the win. Stuart Schlarf drove in two runs while Andrew Gutzka collected two hits and an RBI.
