Erik Lis drilled a two-run homer in the fourth to give the Slammers the lead. Trey Manz belted a solo homer in the sixth to make it 3-1.

Joliet had six hits, two by Hector Pellot.

Chuck Lukanen, the second Joliet pitcher, earned the win. Ryan Quigley pitched a scoreless ninth for the save.

Starter David Deminsky took the loss for Traverse City. Deminsky allowed four runs on four hits in 61⁄3 innings of work.
