TRAVERSE CITY -- The Traverse City Beach Bums sold the contracts of catcher John Parham to the Seattle Mariners and right-handed pitcher B.J. Hagen to the Houston Astros.
Hagen, 23, is a 6-foot-3, 230-pound reliever who joined the Beach Bums in 2009 after completing his college career at North Carolina-Charlotte.
In his first professional season, Hagen was 1-3 with 3 saves and a 2.48 ERA in 40 innings. He only gave up 24 hits last summer, holding opponents to a .178 average.
Parham, 22, is a catcher that played collegiately for Cal State-Northridge. Parham hit .280 with 24 doubles and 12 home runs during his four-year college career. He signed with the Beach Bums this off-season after going undrafted last June.
