TRAVERSE CITY -- Robbie Alcombrack has a new home.
After spending the 2009 season with the Traverse City Beach Bums, Alcombrack's contract has been purchased by the Texas Rangers organization.
Previously, Alcombrack, 21, spent time in the Cleveland Indians organization.
The 6-foot, 205-pound catcher hit .246 with 20 extra base hits last year for the Beach Bums. He also had 10 home runs and ranked fourth in the Frontier League in pick-offs at 30 percent.
Alcombrack is originally from California.
