TRAVERSE CITY -- Two weeks ago, Washington spoiled a Traverse City sweep with a win in the series finale at Wuerfel Park.
Friday, the Beach Bums returned the favor.
Traverse City fought back with three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning for a 7-6 win after dropping the first two games of the series.
The Beach Bums (17-16) got the win with two outs in the ninth. Mike Epping and John Alonso advanced to second and third base on a double steal before Mike Victor brought both home with a two-run single for the win.
Epping brought home pinch hitter Corey Whiting with a two-out double to make it 6-5 before Victor's heroics won the game.
It was the first walk-off win of the season for Traverse City.
David Dinelli started his first game for the Beach Bums and threw five scoreless innings with only one hit.
Shawn Joy was credited with the win after pitching 21/3 innings with one run.
Wild Things pitcher Nick Peterson took the loss and blew his second save of the series. He gave up a run in the ninth inning Wednesday, but Washington was able to fight back to win 4-3 in 10 innings.
Brian Lapin provided the offense early on for Traverse City. The right fielder connected on a two-RBI single in the third inning and then doubled home two more in the fifth for a 4-0 TC lead.
After Dinelli left the game, Washington posted four runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by Jacob Dempsey's two-run double and Phil Laurent's RBI triple.
The Wild Things scored two more in the seventh inning.
Chris Sidick collided with Alonso at first base, allowing Kris Rochelle to score. Sidick later came home on a Michale Parker hit.
Traverse City hits the road for a three-game set at Lake Erie today at 7:05 p.m.
The Beach Bums played the Crushers just a week ago in Ohio and took two of three games.
