Beach Bums drop series finale

Fagan pitches Lake Erie to 6-2 win over TC

TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City Beach Bums could not capitalize on the momentum they generated Wednesday night when J.T. Hall hit a walk-off home run to beat Lake Erie.

Paul Fagan saw to that.

Fagan held the Beach Bums to four hits through eight innings Thursday night as Lake Erie posted a 6-2 win to claim the Frontier League series two games to one.

With the win, the Crushers (42-38) moved a game and a half ahead of Traverse City (41-40) for the wild card berth in the East Division.

Chase Burch accounted for the Beach Bums two runs with a pair of solo home runs, giving him 10 on the season.

Burch finished with three hits. Tom Zebroski added two. Traverse City left nine men on base.

Andrew Davis drove in two of Lake Erie’s runs. Jodam Rivera led the Crushers seven-hit attack with three hits. Davis had two.

Up 3-1, Lake Erie put the game away with a three-run seventh.

Rick Raraigh suffered the loss for the Beach Bums. He went 3 2/3 innings, allowing three runs.

The Beach Bums start a three-game series at Joliet tonight. David Deminsky is expected to get the call.

Traverse City will return home next Tuesday to open a series with Rockford.
