And the Lake Erie Crushers' bats did it.
The Crushers scored 12 runs in the first four innings en route to a 15-4 victory over the Beach Bums.
Beach Bums starter Justin Anderson (0-1) was tagged for nine runs in 2.1 innings, giving up seven hits and two walks. He came into the game with a 2.81 ERA in five appearances.
Jose Vargas had two hits, marking the sixth time in eight games that he's had more than one hit. He was hitting .195 on June 14, but has improved his average to .261 with a 13-for-28 string over the last eight contests.
Vargas drove in Zach Pace with a ground-rule double in the eighth inning.
Matt Brown and Tom Zebroski also had two hits each, with Zebroski belting a two-run homer in the second inning.
Randy Sturgill earned the win with five innings of five-hit ball, surrendering two earned runs. Travis Risser earned a four-inning save, giving up three hits and one run.
Scott Houin was 3-for-4 with a home run and five RBIs for Lake Erie, while Jodam Rivera was 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBIs.
