Munson Hospice has honored three area residents for their dedicated service to the program.
Grand Traverse County resident Mary Mintz and Leelanau County resident Perry Boothroyd were selected as Hospice Volunteers of the Year. Kristen Fuller of Kalkaska was presented with the Peter M. Strom Outstanding Volunteer Award for demonstrating commitment to the mission of Munson Hospice.
Mintz started in 1997 as a respite volunteer in the home. She completed the Music for Healing and Transition program for harp in 2003 and came back to Munson Hospice to help develop the therapeutic music program.
Boothroyd completed initial volunteer training in 2010 and took additional training in 2012. He handles responsibilities ranging from direct assistance to patients to helping maintain Hospice House.
Fuller has been a member of the Munson Hospice team since 1998 through the affiliation with North County Hospice as a respite volunteer, office volunteer and board member. She also substitutes as a patient coordinator when needed.
