---- — The American Red Cross of Northwest Michigan presented the following volunteers and community partners with service awards for their commitment to the Red Cross.
Recognition for Outstanding Service: Kenzie Waller, Health and Safety Instructor of the Year; Michael Duwe, Volunteer of the Year; Paulla Garthe, Disaster Volunteer of the Year; and Debra Harrand, Service to the Armed Forces.
Recognition for Gallon Blood Donors: Michael Duwe, six gallons; Jerome Freels, 14 gallons; Bernadine Dupuis, 18 gallons, and Gary Clouse, 22 gallons.
Recognition for Community Partners: Rotary Charities, Community Partner of the Year for their support and guidance in helping the chapter build a strategic plan and funding a part-time development manager to help increase the chapter's sustainability; and Traverse City Elks Lodge #323, Blood Drive Sponsor of the Year for regularly holding bimonthly "56 Day" drives and reaching 110 percent of goal for the year.
