TRAVERSE CITY -- The Great Northwest High School Bowling Conference, now in its 10th season, will recognize its All-Decade team today during a holiday tournament at Timber Lanes.
The team was selected by a panel of coaches. It's highlighted by captains Molly Valleau and Craig Petersen. Valleau, who bowled for Traverse City West, was all-conference four times and holds the girls' high series (486) and season average (198) records. Petersen, who bowled for Traverse City Central, was also a four-time all-conference pick and was on three league championship teams.
The team also includes: Traverse City Central's Nichole Lally, Jessica Schlimme, Nikki Schlimme and Steve Tate; St. Francis' Justin Bossert and Marcus Oien; West's Chris Galla, Steve Turner and Matt Valleau; and Suttons Bay's Trisha Sams.
Oien and Bossert were on the 2005 state championship team at St. Francis.
Also receiving votes: TC Christian's Kira Olds and Zach Olds, St. Francis's Mike Dendrinos and Shayna Zerbe, TC Central's Samantha Desjardines, TC West's Heather Pahl and Benzie Central's Brandon Scott.
