GRAND HAVEN -- The Traverse City West girls won their first Division 1 regional bowling title in school history Friday.
The Titans rolled a 3436 to edge Grandville by three pins. Traverse City Central finished third with a 3324. Both West and Central advance to the state finals next weekend in Battle Creek.
"We really didn't have a bad game the entire tournament," West coach Mike Pahl said.
While West led most of the tournament, Central needed 100 points in the 10th frame of the final to qualify. The Trojans got 113.
West finished sixth with a 3583 and Central eighth with a 3463 in the boys regional.
