A suspended Grand Traverse sheriff's deputy will face jail time after he assaulted a state police trooper.
Judge Michael J. Haley sentenced Kipp Needham, 36, today to six months in jail and one year probation after he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of attempted assaulting, resisting or obstructing a police officer.
