TC CVB official takes job in Flint

TRAVERSE CITY — A top marketing official at the Traverse City Convention & Visitors Bureau is headed to Flint.

The Flint Area Convention & Visitors Bureau hired Jack Schripsema of Traverse City as its new president. Schripsema worked as vice president of sales and marketing at the Traverse City CVB and his last day there is today.

"I hate losing Jack, but at the same time I feel good this opportunity has been created for him," said Brad VanDommelen, president of the Traverse City CVB, who hired Schripsema 5½ years ago. Schripsema headed up the bureau's group sales and marketing efforts.

Schripsema, 60, will replace Jerry Preston, who was fired by the Flint CVB board in December after 15 years in the position.
