Elk Rapids meeting deals with Internet

ELK RAPIDS -- Members of the public are invited to a meeting to discuss efforts to upgrade broadband Internet service in the Elk Rapids area.

The community awareness meeting will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at the Old Township Hall at 401 River St. in Elk Rapids. Sheila Marker, executive director of the Elk Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce, said a local group is working on improving Internet service in the community. The group is also working on a grant proposal to support the project.
