Welding workshops begin in Traverse City

TRAVERSE CITY — Local welders and business owners in the welding field are invited to upcoming workshops to share information about the sector.

Northwest Michigan Works is sponsoring the events to help develop an accelerated training program for potential employees to learn about the welding field. One workshop will be held Wednesday for businesses in the Traverse City area, and another is set for Feb. 29 for businesses and employers in Wexford, Missaukee and Manistee counties.

Information on the time and location of the workshops is available by contacting Anna Mouser at 922-6506.

The workshops will offer information on training efforts and qualifications needed for specialized welders. Scholarships will be available for eligible trainees, and employers will have access to qualified workers.
