New location

n Frontier Solutions Group has purchased a building located at 1275 Business Park Drive in Traverse City.

Recognition

n Scott Carter, local agent for Farm Bureau Insurance in Acme, was honored with two awards for his sales and service to clients during 2009 at a recent convention in Traverse City.

n Grady Jordan, of Bay View Insurance Agency in Traverse City, earned the No. 18 position in Auto-Owners Insurance Company's 2009 President's Club. The President's Club honors the top 25 Auto-Owners agents whose production is the highest for the company in a calendar year. Jordan has earned the honor six times.

n Allison Beers, owner, reports Events North in Traverse City has been selected as a finalist in the fourth annual Michigan Meetings + Events Magazine Best of Readers' Choice Awards for the category of best meeting/event-planning company.

n Century 21 Northland was awarded both the No. 1 office and No. 1 company awards, as measured by adjusted gross commission by Century 21 Real Estate. Linda Zajac and Julia Lilley were recognized as the No. 1 team in adjusted gross income in the northern Michigan broker council. Individual sales awards were presented to Mike Annelin, Jon Becker, Bridget Carefoot, Connie Kroll, Mike Gaines, Lynda Herkner, Kevin Molby, Lisa Rossi and Jim Totten. Becker, Carefoot and Kroll also received the Quality Service Award.

n Toni Morrison of 45th Parallel Realty in Elk Rapids has repeated the previous year's achievement of being granted the highest level of service achievement in the real estate industry, Quality Service Certified Platinum. The award is in recognition of earning 100 percent client service satisfaction in 2009 as measured by Leading Research Corporation.

n Richard Heydenberk, of Heydenberk Insurance in Cadillac, has again achieved membership in the Million Dollar Round Table -- The Premier Association of Financial Professionals. He is a 19-year member.

Personnel

n WPBN/WTOM TV 7&4 has hired two multimedia journalists, Brody O'Connell and Andrew Keller. O'Connell is based out of Traverse City's main office, while Keller manages the Gaylord bureau.

n Impres Salon & Spa in Traverse City has promoted four technicians. Mary Yoder is a certified Make-Up Artist and continues to be a hair stylist and nail technician. Formerly an assistant, Rachel Sparkman is a hair stylist, nail technician and esthetician. Shawnee Hoag, a hair stylist, has expanded her education to include specializing in hair dressing, "up-dos," cutting and color services. Formerly an assistant, Samantha Hummel is a hair stylist and nail technician. Emily Molnar recently moved into the hair and nail departments; she also specializes in facials and waxing services.

n Petoskey resident and former magazine editor, writer and newspaper journalist Beth Anne Piehl has been hired as the director of communications and Web development for Emmet County.

n Dr. David Best is the new medical director of the East Jordan Family Health Center, Bellaire Family Health Center and Central Lake Family Health Center. He will be responsible for overseeing clinical operations, quality control and medical management. He is a graduate of Des Moines University School of Medicine and joined the East Jordan Family Health Center in 2005.

n The Rev. Richard C. Langton is the new executive director of Workplace Chaplains U.S. based in Cadillac.

Associations

n Empowerment Energy Analysts, a commercial and residential energy auditing and management service, is a new member of the Home Builders Association of the Grand Traverse Area. Company president TJ Ewing also was named to the HBA's Green Building Committee.
