Grayling hospital to show off renovations

GRAYLING -- An open house at Mercy Hospital in Grayling for the public to view $14 million in renovations and equipment upgrades will be held Oct. 22 from 4 to 7 p.m.

The 3-phase, multi-year renovation included upgrades to the surgical suites, ambulatory surgery facilities, the Maternal and Newborn Center, pharmacy and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) facilities, the Emergency Department, 15 private treatment rooms and two trauma rooms. Work completed this fall included a new front entrance, renovated registration and waiting areas, specialty/cardiology clinic space and a radiology suite.

The hospital also hired five new primary care physicians and created a new partnership with Sound Inpatient Physicians Inc. to coordinate care for inpatient stays.

Staff members will also be available to meet with the community, and refreshments will be served. Mercy Hospital is owned by Trinity Health based in Novi.
