Although JIM LEFFEW left us April 24, 2012, we will be celebrating his life at the home of Fred and MaryAnn Behm , 6996 Logan Lane, Traverse City, Saturday, Sept. 22, from 2 to 5 p.m. Please join us to share our love, laughter and stories (including those of Santa). Your memories will be most welcome.

WILLIAM "BILL" PERRY SCHWIND, 63, of Traverse City, passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Munson Medical Center, with family by his side.

A complete obituary will be in the next edition of the Record-Eagle.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

CAROL L. SORENSON, age 74, of Orchard Lake and Fort Myers Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully on Sept. 4, 2012.

She was the beloved wife of the late MSP Detective Sergeant Harry Sorenson; special friend of John Shearlock; loving mother of Jeff and Cary (Cristina) Sorenson; proud grandmother of Daniel and Kyle; and sister of August, Lee Patrick and the late James Belanger.

ROBERT P. SPANOS, 88,of Grand Rapids, formerly of Traverse City, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012. He was born and raised in the Michigan City area.

A memorial service for Robert P. Spanos will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at the Trinity Episcopal Church, Michigan City.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at the Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan, City for Robert P. Spanos and his wife Mary B. Spanos who died on June 27, 2011. They will be buried together and military honors will be provided for both veterans.
