TRAVERSE CITY -- An alleged assault in East Bay Township led authorities to a drug operation.
Grand Traverse sheriff's deputies responded to an assault and battery on May 20 at a house on Hammond Road, where the victim showed them marijuana plants his son grew in the basement.
Isaiah Stewart Rienas, 20, faces a misdemeanor charge for assault against his father, as well as felony drug charges. The drug charges include possession of methamphetamine, the manufacture of marijuana and maintaining a drug house, court records show.
Rienas -- who has not yet been arrested -- could face up to 10 years in prison, if convicted.
