WSCC offers 'drop-in' orientation
Scottville — West Shore Community College is offering a new "drop-in" student-orientation program.
The program is designed to introduce students to the academic and social culture of the campus. There also will be guest speakers and organized activities to help students feel welcome and comfortable on campus. In addition, "drop-in" orientation will allow students to target the sessions they are most interested in and even attend a session more than once if they desire additional information.
The program will be offered 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. the first two days of fall semester, Wednesday, Sept. 1, and Thursday, Sept. 2, at the Schoenherr Campus Center. Each session lasts approximately one hour and will repeat throughout the day. Sessions are open to all, and students are encouraged to attend either before or after classes.
There also will be a barbecue lunch on the lawn outside the Schoenherr Campus Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 1, and "Old Time Photos" Sept. 2 inside the Campus Center. These activities are free and open to all students.
