Concert promises to be a 'humdinger'
MANISTEE — Audiences have come to expect the unexpected at the Manistee High School and Middle School bands' annual Halloween Concert and this year is no exception.
"Halloween Hum Dinger" will feature a program of music by the seventh and eighth grade bands, the high school band and jazz band, soloists, and ensembles plus a few surprises. The concert will start at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, in the Manistee High School auditorium, 525 12th St. The Band Boosters also will sponsor a 50/50 raffle prior to the concert, with the winner announced midway through the performance.
Frightening family fun at Y party
TRAVERSE CITY — Families are invited to a night of ghostly games, spooky snacks and frightening fun at the Grand Traverse Bay YMCA's Halloween Party.
The party from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, will be hosted at the YMCA Child Care Center, 1100 Woodmere Ave., Suite B. Admission is free for YMCA members and $15 per family for non-members. For details, call 933-YMCA or visit www.gtbayymca.org.
Trick or Treat safely at Glen Eagle
TRAVERSE CITY — Area children are invited to a "Safe Trick-Or-Treating" event at Glen Eagle Retirement Community.
The free event is open to the public and will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, in the atrium at Glen Eagle, 3950 Sumac Dr. Refreshments will be served. Call 935-4553 to learn more.
Area teens invited to Halloween Bash
TRAVERSE CITY — The food will be freaky, the games ghoulish and the music "maaad" at a Teen Halloween Bash sponsored by Third Level Crisis Intervention Center.
All teens ages 14 to 18 are invited to the party from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at the UAW Hall, 703 Rose St. Costumes are encouraged and voting will be done for the best and worst "scare."
Admission is $5 or a new hygiene product and a can of soup. Proceeds will go toward future teen events. For details, visit www.thirdlevel.org.
