Amanda Angela Smith and Kurt Balan Faber, both of Chicago, have announced their engagement. They will be married on May 24, 2014, in Traverse City.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Paul and Penny Smith of Traverse City. Amanda graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor of science degree. She is employed as an online visual merchandiser by Claires Inc.

The future groom is the son of William and Leslie Faber of Grosse Pointe Park, Mich. Kurt received a bachelor of science degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. He is employed as a broker by Coyote Logistics.
