Dancers preview new ballet
Traverse City — Northwest Michigan Ballet Theater dancers will give a preview performance Saturday, Jan. 29, of their upcoming production of "Scenes From A Park."
The preview will be presented at 11 a.m. at the Traverse Area District Library, 610 Woodmere Ave. Admission is free. For details, call the library, 932-8500.

Two one-act plays for children
TRAVERSE CITY-- Traverse City West Senior High Drama will present "An Evening of Children's Theatre" Friday and Saturday, Feb. 3-4.
The 7 p.m. program features the one-act plays "The Spell of Sleeping Beauty" and "Hansel and Gretel."
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. The school is at 5376 N. Long Lake Road.

Classes begin Monday at OTP
Winter classes for the Old Town Playhouse Young Company begins Monday, Jan. 30.
There are classes in acting, singing, dance and speech for ages 5 to 16. All classes meet at the playhouse, 148 E. Eighth St.

Benzie County Players auditions
Benzonia — Auditions take place Wednesday, Feb. 1, for the Benzie County Players' production of the Ken Ludwig play "Fox on the Fairway."

Glen Arbor — Local art, wine and food are the highlights of a special evening that kicks off the Leelanau Peninsula Vintners Association's "Taste the Passion" weekend.
"Art From Michigan's Wine Country: Taste the Passion" will be hosted 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at The Homestead Resort. Advance reservations are $20 and due Thursday, Feb. 2. Admission at the door is $25 per person.

Recording artist Glier in concert
Traverse City — MPress recording artist Seth Glier will perform Friday, Feb. 3, at InsideOut Gallery.

Antarctica topic for 'Souper' Sunday
Traverse City — Mary Murphy will share slides and stories from her adventures in Antarctica at the Women's History Project's "Souper" Sunday event.
The annual event will take place 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, at the History Center of Traverse City, 322 Sixth St. The event includes the program and a soup luncheon.
The public is invited and a $5 donation is suggested.
