The Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra and Chorus will perform Handel's "Messiah" today at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Petoskey starting at 7 p.m. The Little Traverse Youth Choir under the direction of Heather Marvin will perform prior to the start of each evening's program. Call 487-0010.
The Trillium Singers present a "Jazzy Christmas" concert Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of Central United Methodist Church on Cass Street in Traverse City, accepting freewill offerings to raise money for the church's Homeless Outreach services. Featured area guest instrumental musicians include Peter Deneen, Gary Gatzke, Byron Hanson and Dick Wallace. Guest vocal soloist Madison Hertel also will be featured.
