Crescent Woods Gatherings start July 21

TRAVERSE CITY — Crescent Woods Gatherings begin their fourth season of family entertainment Saturday, July 21, with the Tongue Family Band.

All concerts, which run through Aug. 11, begin at 7:30 p.m., rain or shine, at Unity of Traverse City, 3600 Five Mile Road, and range from singing, Celtic dancing and music from the '20s to the '90s.

Suggested donation is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. For more information, call 938-9587.

n The Tongue Family Band, July 21: Steve on guitar, Amy on flute, daughters Abby and Lara on fiddles and youngest daughter Emma on Bodhran (Irish drum) and cello. The daughters also step dance.

n Sisters With Class, July 28: Jeff Winkler on Spanish guitar, Janine Winkler and Cindy Rutherford harmonizing. Special guests Gerald Endres will play percussion, Chris Selby on sax, flute and other woodwinds.

n Francois Carew, Aug. 4: Classical guitarist with 29 years' experience, specializing in finger-style guitar.

n The Blue Shadow Band, Aug. 11: Combination of full-horn Motown sound and rock-solid rhythm, with vocalist Angie Burle.
