Jazzy afternoon at InsideOut Gallery

The Northwest Michigan Jazz Experience presents an afternoon of jazz featuring the Cooper, Hay, Van Lente Group with special guest vocalist Janice Keegan at 3 p.m. Sunday at the InsideOut Gallery in Traverse City. Tickets are $5 for NMJE members and $15 for non-members.

Playhouse performs 'Rabbit Hole'

Benzie County holds Fall Festival

A giant pumpkin and squash weigh off contest and pumpkin chunkin' catapults are part of the Benzie County Fall Festival Saturday in Frankfort. Other events include kid's games and pumpkin decorating, a parade featuring the Scottville Clown Band, a juried Mutt March and historical wagon rides.

Art Center presents studio tour Saturday

Crystal Lake Art Center offers an Up North Artists' Studio Tour from 12 to 5 p.m. Saturday. The studios selected represent a variety of media including ceramics, watercolor, fabric art and air brush painting. Also on display will be the Art Bra Show, a project to raise funds for a new digital mammography machine at Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital. Opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. 'Wall-E' showing at State Theatre

Northwestern Michigan College is sponsoring a showing of the movie "Wall-E" for students of all ages at 7 p.m. Sunday at the State Theatre. The free screening is open to students of any grade level. Seating is on a first-come first-serve basis. The general public is welcome to attend the same screening by paying the regular admission price.

Patchwork in the Pines features quilts

16-year-old Elvis Presley impersonator Jake Slater of Bellaire performs a tribute to the King at 7 p.m. Saturday at the VFW Post 2780, 3400 Veterans Drive in Traverse City. Admission is $5.

Harvest Gathering down on Samel's farm

Samel's Family Heritage Society's presents its annual Harvest Gathering from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Williamsburg farm, 8298 Skegemog Point Road. The event features tours, blacksmith demonstrations, apple squeezing and wagon rides.
