Vocal recital at Suttons Bay church

Suttons Bay -- Vocal soloist Gillian Bell will offer a performance titled "Facets of Love" at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 3 at Suttons Bay Congregational Church, 218 W. Madison. Bell will be accompanied by pianist Arthur Williford.

Information on adoption available

TRAVERSE cITY -- Bethany Christian Services will present free adoption informational meetings in January.

A State Adoption-Foster Care informational meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Jan. 13 at Bethany's offices, 1055 Carriage Hill Drive.

An International Adoption meeting will follow from 2 to 4 p.m. Adoption specialists will present options to prospective families wishing to explore an adoptive decision. Guest families will share their experiences. Call 995-0870.

Local speakers for university meeting

TRAVERSE CITY-- The Rev. Donald Libby, pastor of Holy Rosary Church in Cedar, and David Peck, social studies and history teacher at St. Francis High School, will be guest speakers at the Northern Michigan Ave Maria University Founders Club event Jan. 14 at St. Francis High School, 123 E. 11th St.

Their discussion, which is open to the public, will focus on "Eucharistic Conversion." Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with Mass at 6 p.m. in the St. Clare Chapel. Dinner and the presentation will follow in the library. Cost for the dinner is $10 per person. Reservations are required by Jan. 12. For details, call 935-1874.
