Chinese orphans return favor with show
Shen Walker, 17, was born in China, arriving in Traverse City when she was 17 months old. After she and her mother Dianne Walker visited an orphanage in China, Dianne decided to raise money for the kids. Her thanks is coming Oct. 20, when the Living Hope International Orphanage Angels perform in Traverse City.

First Congregational's has new minister
For more than a quarter of a century, Gary Hogue prayed and broke bread with, rejoiced and grieved with his flock at the First Congregational Church. On Sunday he'll step down as senior pastor of the church and turn over its leadership to a newcomer. David Walls, formerly of Toronto, will be installed as the church's new senior pastor at a 10:30 a.m. service.
