Jazz devotional

Traverse City — The Backroom Gang will provide jazz for a Dixieland Devotional Wednesday, July 25.

The service starts at 7 p.m. at The Presbyterian Church of Traverse City, 701 Westminster. An offering will be collected for local charities.

Find your voice

Traverse City — Grace Episcopal Church's Interim Worship Coordinator Abe Leach will lead a music, prayer, scripture and worship series Wednesdays, July 25-Aug. 1.

Sessions meet 7-8 p.m. at the church, 341 Washington St. They are designed to help participants improve their confidence and ability to sing hymns and psalms.

'Taste of Greece'

Traverse City — Archangel Gabriel Greek Orthodox Church will serve authentic Greek food, along with music and culture at its Taste of Greece dinner.

Driver Safety Class

Traverse City — AARP will offer its Driver Safety Program, a classroom refresher course for adults 50 and older.

The class will meet 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, July 26-27, at the Grand Traverse County Commission on Aging, 520 W. Front St. The cost is $12 for AARP members; $14 for non-members. During July and August, current and retired educators and school personnel can attend for $5.

Study for all ages

Traverse City — Prince of Peace Lutheran Church invites children and adults to "Go Back to Jerusalem" to study God's word.

Sessions meet 9:30 a.m.-noon or 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, July 30-Aug. 2, at the church, 1776 High Lake Road. There will be Bible study and activities for pre-K-sixth grade, teens and adults.

Fish broil on tap

Frankfort — Grilled lake trout tops the menu for the Frankfort Trinity Lutheran Men's Group Fish Broil.

The meal will be served 4:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, July 27, at the church, 955 James St. The cost is $15 for adults; $7 for ages 12 and younger. Proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity of Benzie County.

Lions Club yard sale

Cedar — The Cedar/Maple City Lions Club will hold a yard sale Saturday, July 28.

Sale hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Lions Community Building, County Road 616, where donations will be accepted 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 27. For donation pick-up, call 228-7021 or 228-5257. Proceeds benefit local and state projects.

Outdoor concert

Traverse City — Sisters with Class will perform Wednesday, July 28, at the Crescent Woods Gathering.

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m., rain or shine, at the amphitheater behind Unity Church, 3600 Five Mile Road. The suggested donation is $10 for adults; $5 for children 11 and younger.

Traverse City — The Grand Traverse Area Parkinson's Support Group will host guest speaker Dr. J. Eric Ahlskog on Tuesday, July 31.

Dr. Ahlskog is professor of neurology at Mayo Medical School and chair of the Mayo Clinic Section of Movement Disorders. He will talk about "Parkinson's Medicines: Ten Things You Should Know" at the 10 a.m. meeting at the Holiday Inn West Bay, 615 E.
