Benefit for winter events in Frankfort
Frankfort — A fundraiser will be held Thursday, Feb. 9, to benefit Frankfort-Elberta Area Chamber of Commerce winter events.
The event will start at 6 p.m. at Villa Marine Bar & Grill, 228 Main St. Admission is $10 and includes an extensive buffet. There also will be a silent auction.
Proceeds help fund the Winter Recreation Committee and events such at Shiver by the River and Frankfort's annual SnowCross.

MS support group hosts guest speaker
Traverse City — A representative from Premium Postal Products will give a presentation on its ingestible and topical medical products at the Wednesday, Feb. 8, meeting of the MS support group.

Tips to attract birds to winter feeders
Traverse City — Tom Ford, naturalist at Wild Birds Unlimited, will share tips to attract birds to winter feeders in a program on Thursday, Feb. 9.
"A Bird's Eye View" will start at 7 p.m. at the Peninsula Community Library, 2699 Island View Road.

Local antique auto club will meet
Traverse City — New members are welcome at the Wednesday, Feb. 8, meeting of the Northwestern Michigan Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America.

Benefit pig roast for Mark Ockert
INTERLOCHEN — A pig roast benefit dinner will be held Saturday, Feb. 11, for Mark Ockert.
Ockert's mother died Nov. 23, 2011, as the result of an automobile accident, and his home and all his possessions were destroyed by fire the night of her funeral.
The fundraiser will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Inland Township fire Station, 19668 U.S. 31 S.

Village at Bay Ridge open house
Traverse City — The Village at Bay Ridge retirement community will hold a winter open house on Saturday, Feb. 11.
The facility will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Visitors can tour the West Independent Living Building, register to win a $25 gas card, sample snacks and get information about the facility.

Lions Club sponsors pancake breakfast
Maple City — The Cedar/Maple City Lions Club will sponsor a pancake breakfast on Sunday, Feb. 12.
The meal will be served from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lions Community Building.
The price is $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 5-12, and free for children 4 and younger. Proceeds help fund the club's community projects.
Third Level holds art show, auction
TRAVERSE CITY — Third Level Arts & Crafts Show will be held Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center.
The show is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will feature more than 40 exhibitors and a silent auction with donated items from each exhibitor.
The art show is free and open to the public.
As part of Third Level's focus on helping homeless youth, attendees are encouraged to bring personal care products, non-perishable foods, socks, hoodies, paper products and craft supplies.
Third Level services include crisis counseling, legal aid clinic, Pete's Place Youth Shelter, youth and family services and a Street Outreach program.
