Air Force Airman James Wentzel graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Paula Wentzel of Traverse City and a 2009 graduate of Traverse City Central High School.

Air Force Airman Stephen Bouchey graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Bouchey is the son of Steve Bouchey of Traverse City and Linda Hawk of Winfield, Kan. The airman is a 2006 graduate of Traverse City West Senior High School.

Army Sgt. Brad Giglio has returned to Fort Richardson, Anchorage, Alaska after being deployed to Afghanistan for one year. Giglio, an infantryman, is assigned to the 4th Battalion, 25th Airborne Brigade Combat Team. He has served in the military for more than five years. He is the son of Robert and Shellie Giglio of Beulah and is a 2001 graduate of Benzie Central High School.

Brent Davis, of Traverse City, was recently promoted to the rank of Specialist in the Michigan Army National Guard.

Davis is a Fire Direction Specialist with the Lansing-based 1-182nd Field Artillery. He has been a member of the Michigan National Guard for two years. Davis attended basic training in 2008 at Fort Sill, Okla.

Davis works for Planet Beach Contempo Spa and is working towards a degree in marketing from Northern Michigan Community College. He is the son of Brad and Kelly Davis of Ionia.
