Otsego Memorial Hospital recently announced the addition of a new 64-slice computed tomography (CT) scanner to its radiology department. OMH anticipates installation of the new unit toward the end of May.
The new unit, a GE Healthcare LightSpeed VCT 64-slice Scanner, features Volume Computed Tomography (VCT), the latest innovation in CT technology and the use of ASiR(TM) technology, which dramatically reduces the radiation dose to patients by up to 40 percent without compromising the quality of the image.
The new technology allows for reduced acquisition times, improved image quality and new diagnostic possibilities. The new VT Patient Positioning System offers a patient-friendly ergonomic table design featuring a longer scannable range, flexible patient positioning and higher patient weight capacity.
