Dodge fundraiser

Traverse City — Bill Marsh Chrysler Dodge & Jeep will offer short test drives as a "Dodge Booster Club" fundraiser during St. Francis High School's Festival of Arts, 123 E. 11th St.

For each person, 18 and older with a valid driver's license, who takes a test drive from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, Dodge will donate $20 to St. Francis High School.

Goodwill celebrates

Traverse City — Goodwill Industries of Northern Michigan will celebrate its 40th anniversary with open houses Thursday, May 10.

Open house hours are 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Goodwill Industries Corporate Office/Retail Center, 2279 S. Airport Road, Paperworks Studios, 2889 Aero Park Dr., and all retail and donation centers; and 1-3 p.m. at the Goodwill Inn, 2943 Keystone Road, and Patriot Place, 1430 Patriot Place, Gaylord.

'Pink Out' softball

Mesick — The Mesick girls' softball team will play a "Pink Out" game against the Kalkaska Blazers at 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 11, as part of the "Coaches vs. Cancer" program. The game will be played at the Mesick High School field.

'Spring Event'

Traverse City — The women at Bethlehem Lutheran Church are planning a "Spring Event" with favorite musicals as the theme.

The salad potluck starts at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 11, at the church, 1050 Peninsula Drive.

Perennial plant sale

Traverse City — Traverse Bay United Methodist Church's perennial plant sale will benefit mission programs in Haiti.

Sale hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, May 11, and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the church, 1200 Ramsdell Road.

Lincoln Day dinner

Thompsonville — The Benzie County GOP will host its annual Lincoln Day Dinner Friday, May 11, at Crystal Mountain Resort.

A social hour and silent auction starts at 6 p.m.; dinner at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance; $35 at the door.

Mother's Day dance

Maple City — Roger Majeski & the Harmony Kings from Mosinee, Wis., will play for a Mother's Day Dance on Saturday, May 12.

The dance will be hosted 8 p.m.-midnight at the St. Rita/St. Joseph Parish Hall. The doors open at 7:30 p.m. A $10 donation is requested.

Wild edible events

East Jordan — The Martha Wagbo Farm and Education Center, 5745 N. M-66, will hold workshops on local wild foods.

A Saturday, May 12, workshop includes a noon potluck and a 1 p.m. hike. On Sunday, May 13, concurrent leek and morel hunts start at 10 a.m. A $5-$10 donation is suggested. A leek and morel preservation workshop at 1 p.m. costs $5-$10 on a sliding scale.

Benzie Water Tours

Benzie County — The Benzie Conservation District will start a series of water tours with one on Upper Herring Lake 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 12.

The tour starts at the Upper Herring Lake DNR public access on Herron Road. Paddlers may bring canoes or kayaks; rentals are available. A $5 donation is suggested.

Eagle Scout project

Traverse City — Benjamin Tabbert, Boy Scout Troop 20, is asking the public to help with his Eagle Scout project.

Tabbert is helping AC Paw by collecting pet food and supplies. Donations can be dropped off 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at Cherry Capital Cadillac/Subaru, Garfield Avenue, during an AC Paw Adoption Day.

Orchestras perform

Traverse City — Central High School Orchestras will present a "Senior Select" concert on Tuesday, May 15.

The peformance starts at 8 p.m. in Lars Hockstad Auditorium at Central Grade School. The concert is free and open to the public.

Women's workshops

Traverse City — HeartSkills Facilitated Personal Growth Studies will offer four equine-assisted workshops for women.
